Suddenly, instead
of trying to pick 8 draws from 49 matches you're
looking at picking 8 draws from probably around
25-30 or so games. An altogether different
proposition! And when you realise that a lot of
Newspaper Plans and Block Perms cover this many
matches (and more) with pretty tight guarantees, it
soon becomes clear that the chances of a
comfortable win are not so far-fetched.
Sorry,
not all of you may be familiar with Plans and
Guarantees. Basically, a Plan/Block Perm is a
cost-effective way of covering a lot of matches for
a relatively low cost with a slight sacrifice of a
guaranteed win. For instance, Vernons V-Plan 88
covers 23 matches in 10,120 lines and guarantees 7
if 8 (i.e if 8 of your 23 selections are correct, 7
of them must be in one line) - this it does on
Brittens Pools (the UK's cheapest and arguably best
Pool) at a stake of £6.75 - which compares
with a Full Perm covering the same number of
matches (i.e any 8 from 23) cost on the same Pool
of £326.88!!! I could list all the available
Plans and Perms here, but space wouldn't allow, but
if you check out our CONTACTS
section you will find addresses of where to get
Plans and Checking Charts.
Once
you are used to Plans and understand fully the
mathematics of how they work, you can even design
your own which believe me is great fun and very
satisfying when they reap results. One tip though,
once you have a Plan that suits all your criteria
(number of matches covered, cost etc) STICK WITH IT
- don't abandon it after just a few weeks without a
win, you'll get there eventually (the author has
had more than 20 wins in the last year, mostly
minor dividends admittedly, but the thrill of
receiving a Pools company cheque even for a tenner
is hard to beat).
